Allstate Ban Upheld
Allstate Floridian Insurance Company cannot write any new auto, property, health or boat insurance unless and until it fully complies with an investigation by the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation.
The Office of Insurance Reglation first withdrew Allstate's certificate to write new polices back in January, but the ban only lasted for one day before a court stopped it. Now an appeal court ruling has backed the Office of Insurance Regulation and Allstate agents have been instructed to stop selling. At the heart of the matter is Allstates refusal to disclose certain documents that the state believes are integral to working out why Allstate's insurance premiums have failed to drop.
