New Flights From Bristol

Orlando Sanford International Airport (SFB) and First Choice Airways announce the first ever charter flights from Bristol International Airport (BRS) to Florida have begun. The first arrival landed at Orlando Sanford on time Sunday, February 4th with 220 people aboard. More information on First Choice can be found at www.FirstChoice.co.uk.

The new service will operate weekly on Sundays using 258-seat Boeing 767-300 aircraft configured with 62 seats in Star Class Premier and 196 in Star Class (economy). Flights will depart Bristol at 10:20 a.m. and arrive at Orlando Sanford at 5:00 p.m. that same day. Return service is scheduled to leave Orlando Sanford at 6:30 p.m. and arrive in Bristol at 7:50 a.m. the next day (all flight times are local).

BA Announce New Baggage Plans

A single allowance system based on the number of bags that can be checked in will be introduced for travel from 13 February 2007 as announced on the BA website.  It is unlikely to severely impact travellers to Florida and the U.S. although the weight of the bags will be reduced from 32 kgs to 23 kgs.

FIRST and Club World
Customers will be able to check three bags into the aircraft hold free of charge.

Club Europe and World Traveller Plus
Customers will be able to check two bags into the aircraft hold free of charge.

World Traveller*, Euro Traveller, BA Connect & UK Domestic
Customers will be able to check one bag into the aircraft hold free of charge.

*World Traveller customers travelling / connecting to or from the US, Canada, Caribbean, Nigeria, Brazil and Mexico will continue to be allowed two checked bags in line with the local government regulations.

To allow customers to become familiar with the new baggage policy and weight limitations, BA will continue to accept bags at check-in weighing up to 32kgs for travel completed by 30 September 2007.
