Governor Bush Applauds Record Numbers
"On 27th February, I announced that a record number of tourists - 85.8 million visited Florida in 2005, an increase of 7.6 percent from 2004. Tourism is Florida’s biggest industry, and it’s growing according to preliminary data released by VISIT FLORIDA, the state’s official source for travel planning."
"This is the first time annual visitation to Florida has exceeded the 80 million mark.
These record-breaking tourism numbers represent a significant milestone for our tourism industry. The efforts of the state’s tourism industry and the hospitality of Floridians continue to ensure Florida’s place among the world’s most popular vacation destinations."
